Meet members of Highline’s advising council for some updates on the council’s work, including progress on process mapping for the student ‘life cycle’ and advising experience. Upon arrival in building 7, please take a moment to complete a short survey to share your thoughts on advising topics for which you’d like to see workshops this year. Surveys will be available at the door.
We’ve planned a great morning of breakout sessions! All four sessions will run from 9:50 – 10:50, and again from 11:00 – 12:00, so you will be able to visit two workshops:

Advising College-bound and Transitioning Students

At Highline, we have about 4000 students in precollege. Helping these students to articulate their goals and transition to college is a huge way to maintain our enrollment and serve our community. Come to this workshop to learn more about how you can support students as they move from ABE into college pathways.
Advising Running Start Students
Presenter: Chase Magliocca

This session will focus on Running Start policies that impact advising Running Start students. Learn about policies related to enrollment, graduation requirements, and student support. Discussion will be facilitated by our new Director of Running Start, Chase Magliocca.

Come learn about our financial aid process at Highline. Learn about the difference between the WASFA and FAFSA. During this session you will gain tips on how to support students checking their financial status, where to locate forms online, important deadlines and more.
Advising Transfer Students and Veterans
