Committee Selection & Compostion

Scope

Opening Week: Coordinate faculty/staff-focused events such as welcome sessions, departmental meetings, and community-building activities. Primary focus of the week is community, strategic planning, and faculty preparation for the new academic year.

Professional Development Day: Design and organize workshops, training sessions, and keynote presentations for faculty and staff professional development.

Committee Composition

The committee should include a diverse mix of faculty and staff to ensure broad representation and expertise.

Committee Selection

Executive Cabinet will recommend individuals on an annual basis to serve a three year term (with option to renew) on the committee. Recommendations will consider:

  • Departmental and role diversity
  • Experience with event planning or professional development
  • Demonstrated collaboration and leadership skills
  • Availability during the planning period

Eligibility Requirement: To be considered for selection to serve on the committee, employees must be in good performance standing and demonstrate the capacity to take on additional responsibilities without impacting their current productivity or job performance.
